Pottering around

Hi, here's a ceramic sculpture I made of a catalogue by the great Sri Lankan-born, Sydney based artist Ramesh Mario Nitheyendran.
Back in February 2017 I took this sculpture to an artist talk Ramesh gave at the Mpavillion, and after the talk he was kind enough to autograph it for me.
Huge thanks to Ramesh! And if you're interested in hearing a recording of the awesome artist talk he gave that day click here.

Anyway as you can see I'm a big fan of Ramesh, which makes it super exciting that this Saturday I'll be working alongside him at the Potter Museum, as part of their event Inside Out.

Over the space of two hours Ramesh and myself, as well as the amazing artists Richard Lewer and Zilverster (Sharon Goodwin and Irene Hanenbergh), will each take turns to paint one big mural together.

Really looking forward to it! Here's a pic from the last time I painted a mural.

The whole thing's kicking off this Saturday May 4th from 4-8pm, and is wheelchair accessible. Come along and say hello! And if you feel like getting involved, there'll also be a giant piece of paper where everyone is encouraged to draw along with the mural.

I'd like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation as the traditional owners of the land on which this event will be taking place, and pay my respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Thanks so much for reading, hopefully see you soon, and in the meantime here's a drawing I did of the four artists I'm thrilled to be working alongside this Saturday!
