It's a Geelong way to the top

Hi there, hope you're going well!

I'm so pleased to share that my new work 'The Little Things Are The Big Things (Discarded Shopping List)' has been selected as a finalist in the 2026 Geelong Contemporary Art Prize!

Creating a permanent record of a fleeting moment, here the humble anonymous shopping list has been elevated in scale to suggest that often in life the little things are the big things.

Huge congrats to the other entrants and finalists! The exhibition's on display at Geelong Gallery from November 7, 2026 to February 28, 2027.

In other news, my work on paper titled Balancing Act has been included in a new drawing themed group show that's just opened at MARS Gallery.

Balancing Act playfully represents the constant push and pull a lot of us feel between work and life. Like a lot of my drawings, this piece uses humour as an entry point to discussing more complex ideas, like the balance between working on Sundays, and working on sundaes.
The exhibition features lots of great artists and runs until November 21. To view the full catalogue of works, click here!

In other news, I recently had the honour of returning to my old art school the VCA (Victorian College of the Arts) to give an artist talk as part of their Art Forum program.

Big thanks to David and Joon for inviting me to be a part of it, and to everyone who came along! If you'd like to watch the talk on youtube,

And lastly but not leastly, a huge thanks to everyone that said hello last month at Sydney Contemporary!

It was so great to see our MARS Gallery booth included in an article about the fair published in Vogue Australia, written by Rahemma Azwar. If you'd like to read the article, click here!

I also loved getting to speak on a panel talk during the fair, alongside fantastic artists The Huxley's and moderated by Alison Kubler.

Thanks so much for reading, hope you have a nice week and hope to see you soon!
