Blue suede chews

Hi, here's a new ceramic sculpture I made of a Pez dispenser called "Chewie on Chewie".
"Chewie on Chewie" is in my new solo show, on now until June 8 at Hugo Michell Gallery, open Chewsday through to Saturday.

If you'd like to see a full catalogue of all the works in my exhibition, please contact the gallery :)

In other news, or should I say, other chews, last week I was invited to paint a mural in the kitchen of the Greenwood Park campus of Deakin University.

The mural is spread over several walls within the Uni's second floor dining area and is titled "Deakin Chew-niversity Public Chewral"

This large site-specific series of paintings playfully combines lateral thinking with food, creating both a masterpiece and a master feast.

Presented as a smorgasbord of many different food themed ideas for the viewer to sink their teeth into, this is not just a mural, but a Chewral.

Thanks for reading, hope you're having a nice Tuesday, or should I say Chews-day.

Wake me up before Hugo go

Hey, in big news, here's a new ceramic sculpture I was recently commissioned to make of a Big M.
Chocolate Big M. Acrylic on ceramic. 2019.
In other big news, tomorrow morning I'll be waking up early and making the big drive from Melbourne to Adelaide to install my new solo show at Hugo Michell Gallery!

The exhibition opens this Thursday May 16th from 6-8pm, and runs until June 8th. I'm really excited to share with you some of the new work I've been making. Come along and say hello!

The gallery is wheelchair accessible :)

We would like to acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of the land on which this exhibition is taking place, and pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.

To coincide with my exhibition at Hugo Michell Gallery I'll also be doing an artist talk the day after the opening, on Friday May 17th, at 12.40pm in the Adelaide Central School of Art. So if you're studying there please come along!

Thanks heaps for reading, and to finish up here's some new ceramic sculptures of Cadbury Favourites, presented in order from most favourite to least favourite.

Hugo with the flow

Hi, here's a ceramic sculpture I made back in 2012 called "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine".
This work is available in the upcoming TCB gallery fundraiser exhibition happening this Saturday May 11th from 2-8pm. TCB gallery is located at 1 Wilkinson street in Brunswick. All funds raised goes towards making their bathrooms wheelchair accessible.

In other news, I'd like to give a huge thanks to everyone who came and said hi as I painted a mural at the Ian Potter Museum last Saturday afternoon, it was so much fun!

Here's a pic of Ramesh and I painting together, clearly displaying once and for all who's got the bigger paintbrush.
And in more super exciting news, next week I'm heading to Adelaide for my new solo show at Hugo Michell Gallery! The exhibition opens Thursday May 16th, from 6-8pm. Come along! Looking forward to sharing with you some of the new sculptures I've been making.

In the meantime though thanks heaps for reading, hopefully see you soon and I hope the rest of your week totally rules!

Speaking of things totally ruling, here's a sneak peak at one of my new works in the exhibition- a ceramic sculpture of a 31cm ruler, for all those times when a 30cm ruler just isn't quite long enough.
