Can You Peel The Love Tonight

Hi, hope you're going well!

I'm so happy to share my new mural at Shepparton Art Museum called Can You Peel The Love Tonight!

The mural playfully elevates the humble can, celebrating the preservation of peachy produce from across the Goulburn Valley, and is a fruitful celebration of the Shepparton canning community who stick together through thick and tin.

The Goulburn Valley supplies so much of our nation's produce, including around 90% of Australia’s pears, as well as stone fruit, apples, cherries and grapes, connecting all of the country to this pear-ticularly special part of the world.

In this mural the fruit cans of
Shep-pear-ton are presented as a larger than life ‘still life’ painting. The ‘still life’ has always been a formative part of my practice, replicating the seemingly mundane ephemera from our daily lives.

Huge thanks to the whole team at SAM for being so amazing to work with, and to all the wonderful locals who stopped by for a chat while I painted.

Can You Peel The Love Tonight
is on display from now until February 17, 2025. For more info please click here!

In other news, the Bayside Painting Prize remains open from now until June 23rd, and I'm so thrilled that my painting
Wild Goose Chase has been selected as a finalist in such a fantastic exhibition.

While most road signs offer us guidance and clear direction, Wild Goose Chase instead reminds us that we never really know what’s up ahead. A timely reminder to not get too distracted chasing something in the future at the expense of what’s in front of us in the present.

If you're unable to attend the gallery in person but would like to see the show, you can now view an online walkthrough of the exhibition by clicking here!

Huge congrats to all other the finalists and entrants, and to the prize winner Linda Judge. For more info please
